Capsule Wardrobe

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear “capsule wardrobe”?

It could be limiting, overwhelming, stifling…

BUT a capsule wardrobe is meant to bring clarity to your closet. It helps you pause before purchasing the next amazon thing. Keeping only the things you absolutely love in your closet minimizes wasted space and decision fatigue when it comes to picking outfits.

To give you an example, here’s my plan for a -late summer- capsule. There are 29 pieces to mix and match.

THE basic checklist for almost any capsule:

  • Color palette (Do you know YOUR colors? This is when a color analysis comes in handy!)

  • General grid for the weather

  • Forecasted events & appropriate attire

  • Lifestyle

  • Do these garments feel authentic to YOUR key words

This wardrobe is for my work, extracurriculars, night activities, & day to day wear. I didn’t include athleisure. I’ll talk about lounge/athletic wear in another post.

Here are links to similar & exact garments. I will say, once you start purchasing clothing you love, they will often be garments that will pass the test of time. A lot of these items in the visual are vintage pieces from years past. So I did my best to find similar things in season!
